Bienvenidos en Mazatlan!
hello! So, we are in Mazatlan, and we're in siesta right now. And I wanted to give everyone who sees this an update on how we're doing. We were pretty wiped out from the flights and stuff, and we're still settling in, but we got to see alot of the city so far, and we're getting ready next week to really get into the nitty-gritty. With all the ministries we'll be a part of, I am so excited. I know this is where God wants us, and that we are here to do His will on this city, with these people. The people here are so friendly and hospitable, and what's more, my heart breaks for them. I see beggars and paralytics and hurting people who look okay on the outside, but inside I know they are dying from being alienated from their Heavenly Father, even though a huge amount of people here are Catholic. The religion and the amount of hypocrisy shows me these people are desperate to have relationship with the Lord. You have to pay to light a candle in the Cathedral, and even though you see people with crucifixes and rosaries, and Jesus, and Mary, it is so empty. These people need the Lord, and this is our mission: to shine light in the dark places of this city and this nation, with the good news that Jesus is alive and lives in us! And He loves dearly every single person, not based on how much money you pay for your prayers, or how many good things you do, but simply because you are His creation. I realize now the full gravity of being in the Word, abiding in Him always, and looking to Him to lead you into all things by His Holy Spirit. Without that, we could not be a blessing, but a burden. It's time for those to be lifted off! - Dana
